Snowy Cotinga

The Snowy Cotinga (Carpodectes nitidus) ranges from the North part of Honduras to Panama. It resides in pairs or small groups in canopy or wet forests. Adults are 22.5 cm (9 inches) in height and 105 g in weight.

This medium-sized bird has a dovelike forehead, with broad wings and short tail. Above is pale bluish-gray, darkest on crown and below white. Wings and tail dusky and legs blackish. This bird eats fruits, mistletoes and figs.
