Scaled Pigeon

The Scaled Pigeon (Patagioenas speciosa) lives from the Southside Mexico to West Ecuador, North Argentina and the Southeast part of Brazil. Its place is in forested regions. Its size is of 32 cm (12 inches) and 320 g in weight.

This large bird is characterized by its reddish scaled plumage. Adults have a crown and most of upperparts rufous-to purplish-chestnut. Neck, breast, and upper back rich buff to whitish. Bill bright red whit white tip. It feeds on fruits and epiphytes. Seen singly, in pairs or trios.
