Rock Pigeon

The Rock Pigeon (Columba livia) is native to Eurasia and North Africa and nowadays lives worldwide. This is the common pigeon of cities and towns, usually in flocks. Its size is 30 cm (12 inches) and its weight 300 g.

This bird has a highly variety plumage but mostly dark gray, glossed with purple and green on the neck. Wings are gray and, bill black, cere whitish and legs magenta. This urban bird feeds on seeds and scraps in streets and plazas.
