Red-crowned Ant-Tanager

The Red-Crowned Ant Tanager (Habia rubica) ranges from Mexico to Bolivia, Argentina, and Brazil. Its natural habits are in subhumid and humid evergreen, and second growth forest. Its size is of 18 cm (7 inches) in height and 38 g in weight.

Matures have a crown path pinkish-scarlet, bordered with redish-black. Rest of the upperparts, wings, and tail are dusky-red. Underparts paler dull red, brightest on throat. Bill black, and legs brownish-gray. This bird feeds on fruits and beetles.
