The Black-headed Tody Flycatcher (Todirostrum nigriceps) can be found from Costa Rica to W Ecuador and NW Venezuela. It lives in the canopy of rain forests. Often forages in flowering trees to snatch flies.

8cm (31/4”), 6.3g. Tiny, with a long, heavy, blunt-tipped bill; white throat that contrasts the black cap; mostly black, with the upperparts olive-green, paler on upper back; and the underparts yellow. Two pale yellow wing-bars, as well as the edges; bill black; legs blue-gray to blackish. Young: paler; throat tinged with yellow and yellow wings with olive marks.

Yellow-olive Flycatcher

The Yellow-olive Flatbill or Yellow-olive Flycatcher (Tolmomyias sulphurescens) is a species of bird in the Tyrannidae family. It is found in tropical and subtopical forest and woodland in Central and South America, but over its range there are significant variations in plumage, iris-colour and voice, leading to speculations that more than one species is involved. Its plumage is overall greenish-yellow, the lores are whitish, the crown is often greyish and some subspecies have a dusky patch on the auriculars. The flat bill is black above and pale pinkish or greyish below; similar to the Yellow-margined Flatbill, but unlike the Grey-crowned Flatbill.

Bare-necked Umbrellabird

The Bare-Necked Umbrellabird (Cephalopterus glabricollis) ranges from Costa Rica to West Panama. It inhabits in primary forests. Its size is of 41 cm (16 inches) and its weight of 450 g.

This bird is entirely black glossed with blue. It has a large, chunky, with heavy broad bill and a big head. It is characterized by is spectacular umbrella crest, its long and short wings and its short tail. They eat some fruits, lizards, insects and small frogs.

Lovely Cotinga

The Lovely Cotinga (Cotinga amabilis) lives from the Southside of Mexico to Panama. It inhabits in canopy of wet forests. This bird has decreased because of the deforestation. Its measures are 19 cm in height (7 inches) and 72 g in weight.

Adults are mostly brilliant blue, but with chin, throat, upper chest and center of belly deep purple. Wings and tail feathers are black with greenish-blue margins. It seeds on fruits, especially of Lauraceae, small lizards and insects.

Turquoise Cotinga

The Turquoise Cotinga (Cotinga ridgwayi) lives in Costa Rica and West Panama. Its location is near wet forest. Adults are 17.5 cm (7 inches) in height and 55 g in weight.

It is mostly intense glossy blue. Chin, throat, upper breast, and center of belly are deep violet and legs are dark gray. Living alone or in small flocks (less than 6), this bird feeds on fruits of trees (like Cecropia and Citharexylum), mistletoe (Psittacanthus) and berries (Phytolacca).
