Olive-throated Parakeet

The Olive-throated parakeet (Eupsittula nana) dwells from S and E Mexico to W Panama, mainly on Caribbean slope; also Jamaica.

23cm (9”), 85g. Blue on wings but no contrasting markings. Mostly green; chest dull olive, shading a little yellowish on belly and wing-linings; various ventral feathers with dusky shafts; remiges largely blue. Iris orange; bill whitish to pale horn; cere and eye-ring white; feet dull grayish. Young: Iris brown.
