Lovely Cotinga

The Lovely Cotinga (Cotinga amabilis) lives from the Southside of Mexico to Panama. It inhabits in canopy of wet forests. This bird has decreased because of the deforestation. Its measures are 19 cm in height (7 inches) and 72 g in weight.

Adults are mostly brilliant blue, but with chin, throat, upper chest and center of belly deep purple. Wings and tail feathers are black with greenish-blue margins. It seeds on fruits, especially of Lauraceae, small lizards and insects.
