Black-cheeked Ant-Tanager
The Black-Cheeked Ant-Tanager (Habia atrimaxillaris) is an endemic species of Costa Rica. Lives in the lowlands of Golfo Dulce, PenĂnsula de Osa, and Corcovado National Park. Its size is of 18 cm (7 inches) in height and 38 g in weight.
With front and sides of crown black with slaty feather tips, and a central crown-path bright salmon-orange. Rest of upperparts dark gray, tinged with dull redish. Bill black, and legs dark horn. Its diet is based on small insects, leaves, and berries of melastomes.
